FAIRFAX, VA – Former Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Sharon Bulova endorsed Sean Perryman’s campaign for Lt. Governor on Friday. Bulova served as county chairman for over ten years, being reelected twice to lead the most populous jurisdiction in Virginia, and has served on the Fairfax County board for over 30 years. She joins current county chairman Jeff McKay as well as current county supervisors Rodney Lusk, Walter Alcorn, Dalia Palchik, Kathy Smith, John Foust, and James Walkinshaw in endorsing Perryman.
“As this trying pandemic comes to an end, Virginia needs steady leaders who have the vision to push us forward into an equitable recovery,” said Bulova. “I’m supporting Sean Perryman for Lt. Governor because he’s that kind of leader. He’s committed to investing in quality education, accessible public transit, affordable housing, and a compassionate criminal justice system. Sean will use his experience to ensure that Virginia is a place where every family has the tools to succeed and the quality of life they deserve.”
“It’s a true honor to earn the support of Sharon Bulova,” said Perryman. ”Sharon is widely respected by voters and elected officials of both parties for her ability to govern honestly and effectively. She can claim a consequential role in the progress and modernization of Northern Virginia. As chairman, she led Fairfax County through a decade of immense change and growth. I will build on her successes as Lt. Governor and lead with the same values of fairness and transparency that she brought to the job.”
The Perryman campaign has more endorsements from Fairfax County elected officials than any other campaign in the race. In addition to a supermajority of Fairfax County supervisors, the Perryman campaign has also been endorsed by Delegate Kaye Kory, Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, Herndon Vice Mayor Cesar del Aguila, and school board members Karl Frisch and Melanie Meren. Perryman now leads the race in endorsements from the two largest strongholds of Democratic primary voters—Fairfax County and Hampton Roads.
Sean Perryman is President Emeritus of the Fairfax County Chapter of the NAACP, a technology public policy advocate, attorney, and former congressional investigator. If elected, he would become one of the youngest Lt. Governors in Virginia history.
