  1. I agree there should not be reverse parking on Bay Ave. It IS stupid and dangerous. The situation on Mason is awful. I’m just amazed at the bad decisions……..

  2. I’m so tired of “us vs them” mentality. I do live in Bay Creek which is part of the incorporated town of Cape Charles. I pay town taxes as well as a water bill. My husband and I volunteered for many years on different committees raising funds to enhance the beauty of our town. We are proud to be a part of the business community as well. My businesses collect not only Occupancy taxes but State sales tax , which generates revenue to our Town. We frequent and support other businesses as we want to see everyone succeed. By the way, our first stop with guests is showing off our town and the beautiful beach and pier.
As a writer, please never say never and don’t lump and judge one group under the same umbrella.
You don’t have to live in town to see that reverse angled parking is a nightmare. Try pulling out when you are parked next to a large SUV. Inch your way out and pray no one is coming. Try pulling into a space and realize a car has taken up 2 spots because they don’t know how to park. Wait behind a car while they try multiple times to reverse angle into a space. Be careful when you’re coming in the opposite direction and a car swings in front of you to reverse angle park.
So yes council members, please leave the beach parking alone.
As for those behind the “gates” (I use that word loosely) who don’t frequent and support town, you don’t know what you’re missing.
