An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness was approved by the Historic District Review Board for the home at 206 Harbor Avenue. The building is a contributing structure built on
a non-conforming size lot. The application included the addition of a front dormer (with three windows), chimney removal, and the addition of new windows in the first and second-floor bedrooms.
The engineer’s letter confirmed the condition of the chimney and the appropriate method of chimney removal. Several additional windows are proposed.
The repairs and upgrades to the home will be extensive, including replacing floor joists, windows, renovating 2 bathrooms and adding 1 bath, repairs to the sleeping porch, front atrium, removing the back fireplace, and adding an outdoor shower. The work will be self-contracted by the owner Jenny Barker.
