Nassawadox, VA – The Accomack County Woman’s Club made generous donations to Riverside after their spring fundraising events.
The Woman’s Club’s Town and Country Garden Group donated $1,000 to purchase a tree to be planted alongside the Cancer Center at the new Riverside Shore Health Services campus in Onancock. “The new campus is focused on the healing environment,” stated Pamela Dix-Parker of the Riverside Foundation. “The furnishings have been chosen in colors that bring the outdoors inside; we have selected art that shows off the Shore; and the huge windows throughout the buildings let in light and a view of nature. This beautiful tree will complement the overall landscaping and is another element in the healing environment.”
The Riverside Shore Cancer Center’s Chuck Ward Cancer Center Education Fund received $1,220 to defray continuing education costs for Riverside team members at the Center. Chuck Ward was the Center’s director, and he set up the fund before his death in 2014. Because oncology is a rapidly evolving field, team members have a constant need to learn about the latest strides in care, and this education fund ensures that Riverside’s patients are being cared for by well-trained and up-to-date professionals.
