ONANCOCK – The holidays will glow in Onancock with the help of the tree lighting ceremony hosted by the hospital’s Auxiliary in front of Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary’s heartwarming celebration of life ushers in the holiday season. This year the Shore community is invited to participate in a decades-long tradition of remembrance and hope at the Festival of Lights on December 6.
The tree lighting ceremony will take place under the front canopy of Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock at 5:30 p.m., followed by holiday music and refreshments. The lights will shine each evening throughout the holidays and into the new year. The RSMH Auxiliary’s Carousel Gift Shop, just off the Hospital’s main lobby, will be open late for the event.
Lights can be purchased in any quantity for $7 each. Forms are available on posters at local businesses, post offices and the Carousel Gift Shop. Forms can also be found at the top of Riverside Shore Memorial’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/riversideshorememorial).
Because honorees receive an acknowledgement of the gift, it’s a thoughtful way to share holiday greetings with loved ones and support a worthy cause as well. Donors and honorees will be recognized in the ceremony’s program.
Proceeds from the Auxiliary’s annual event support technology advances, patient care and staff education at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
