When K-12 students return to school, I believe you will see widespread sit-ins, walkouts, protests. Callouts, intimidation, struggle sessions, calls for apologies, and firings. Escalation of conflict between students, between teachers, between students & teachers.
Increase in fights (likely including beatings by groups of students). … This will lead to a surge in teachers quitting & retiring early over the next few years which will open the door for lots of new, young, Woke teachers to enter and spread Wokeness further into K-12.
This will also lead to families who can afford/manage it to pull their children out and find alternatives for their education. (Already happening due to COVID-19. WokeEd will make it worse.)
The “culture of leniency” highlighted in the book ‘Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies That Created The Parkland Shooter and Endanger America’s Students, exposes that Woke roots are deep in K-12. Every incentive in the K-12 system leans towards caving to Wokeness.
The K-12 collapse that’s coming over the next few years may be the “rock bottom” and final straw to wake people up to needed changes (maintaining standards, discipline, responsibility, integrity).
Even so, this will take a very long time, and the chaos that occurs until that happens will cause a lot of damage to the K-12 system and to many school children.
Also, the impact of COVID-19 on schooling will be used as an excuse for the failures of the system. Of course, there is some truth to that given the massive and unexpected disruption.
However, it will be exaggerated and also used as an excuse to push for more Equity (Woke) initiatives, which will accelerate the downward spiral.
Given this chaotic school environment, there will be a rapid academic decline. (It might be hidden for a while behind attempts at “culturally responsive assessments,” but don’t be fooled.).

Too many American schools were failing anyway. Maybe this upheaval will spur some needed improvements in the long run.
