Tidal Shoreline Management Workshop – July 14, 2022.
After two years of webinars, the annual workshop for Virginia’s tidal shoreline management community will be held in person.
New legislation, programs and policies are now in effect in Virginia to consider climate change and sea level rise while planning and permitting shoreline stabilization projects. This workshop will examine implementation progress with an increased emphasis on living shorelines, funding support programs, and new guidelines to support consideration of present and future conditions during project design and permitting stages. The planned program includes various regulatory updates to assist the coastal region with coordinated shoreline management as well as shoreline field experiences on the VIMS campus.
This event is free to attend but registration is required before July 8th. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Contact Karen Duhring (karend@vims.edu) for more information.
