With the adoption of the new Strategic Plan, the Town of Cape Charles is looking for ways to deter any undesired behavior, such as reckless golf-carting, speeding, parking violations, and unauthorized pets (dogs) on the beach. Chief Pruitt has been asking the town to revise the code to help the CCPD foster a safer vehicle (golf cart) culture for the town.
Essentially, there has to be a better way to enforce the code.
It was determined by the staff that the current violation book was out of date and needed revision, and not just for golf carts.
In response, a revised notice was created that increased the fines for parking violations, as well as adding new violations and fines.

I like the idea that Licensed citizen’s of Cape Charles and visiters can drive golf carts around town and suggest that when a golf cart is rented or a citizen of Cape Charles purches a sticker for their cartplease give the them a list detailing the do’s and don’ts of operating a cart around town. In nearly all towns that allow golf carts it is a common courtesy that when you are driving a cart and see a car coming you pull over and let the car pass, most of our visitors do not know this and will not pull over.
How is it that people who don’t live in Cape Charles lack common courtesy?
