  1. If anyone thinks the concrete plants bad, you should have been here in the sixties and early seventies when the fish plant was over there by um.

    1. If ‘they’ had been here in the sixties, a concrete plant would be the least of their problems. Eastern Shoreman still had their voices back then. Political correctness would not safeguard the raw nerves they have hanging out today. Just as a really obscure example, remember just what the Eastern Shore looked like the morning after Halloween, back in the sixties and seventies? Eggs, toilet paper and soap from pokomoke to kiptopeke….stores and homes alike.

  2. It has already become an “us” versus “them”. It has been for several years. As our town manager, you should really get acquainted with the history of our town and stop cowtowing to just the money people who come trying to change a whole way of life. Sounds like one of the pages out of Bob Panek’s book. Or… Those who gave our school away on a silver platter, along with a check for the deal. If folks don’t like what we have here, they are free to carry their sorry as**s back where they came from.

  3. Mr. Hozey, some people won’t appreciate a thing you do, know matter how well you do it. Conversations and agreements like yours with CPS show an excellent understanding of both sides of the discussion. We need the product to be available from CPS. We need their jobs and we need their taxes. Thinking the leftover mess will be possible to remove in a fast food hamburger 3 minute pause is simply ignorant, and some folks need to put some serious patience to work. Those improvements CPS is making are quite pricey. Perhaps the vocal anti CPS crowd can get together and volunteer, or pay someone, to create a wonderful mural on the 20 ft. wall CPS is creating. A Cape Charles ish mural of the quality of the one on the side of the Goldman’s store in Onley. It sounds as though CPS is making strides at improvements and are demonstrating they are not anti Cape Charles. Perhaps someone in the Cape Charles area that sounds as loud in this paper as a safety buzzer in CPS can step forward and do something positive to help the situation ? Meet CPS part way ? Help the situation ? It ain’t rocket science. Yeah, I bet if you try you can make a concrete plant attractive.
