MACHIPONGO, Va. — The United States Army Chorus Alumni will headline a special fundraising concert in support of Northampton High and Middle School choirs on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The free event, which begins at 4 p.m. at Hungars Episcopal Church on Bayside Road, marks the second annual benefit performance for the school’s choral program.
Organizers said the concert offers both an opportunity for the community to enjoy an afternoon of music and to contribute to local arts education. Donations will be accepted to help fund resources and opportunities for choir students.
The U.S. Army Chorus Alumni, made up of former members of one of the nation’s premier military ensembles, are expected to present a program blending patriotic, classical, and popular music.

The Northampton High and Middle School choirs have seen growing community support through fundraising concerts like this one, which highlight the importance of keeping arts programs strong in rural Virginia schools.
