The Virginia Department of Education has awarded Northampton County $16.8 million dollars for the construction of the new complex. The funds will be drawn from $450 million in the fiscal year 2023 state funds to support competitive grants for new school construction, additions, and major building renovations. The funding comes with support from Governor Glenn Youngkin and the Virginia General Assembly.
The lowest bid for construction is now $84,456,429.
