Town received notice that The Traffic Group, Inc. has been contracted by VDOT’s Central Office to conduct traffic counts in our area. The traffic information to be collected by these counts is very important for management of the road network and required reporting of traffic volume information to the Federal government.
To meet the requirements of the VDOT contract, The Traffic Group, Inc. plans to begin installing traffic counting equipment throughout the area starting the week of 8/12/19 and continuing through 9/13/19 -Weather Permitting. VDOT will be conducting 48 hour volume and classification traffic counts. Citizens can expect to see traffic road tubes across the lanes of travel secured to a traffic counting device roadside.
