MACHIPONGO, Va. — Citizen Activists Rousing the Eastern Shore (CARES) will host the National Day of Defiance 2.0 on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12168 Lankford Highway in Machipongo. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring candidates, live music, local speakers, a food truck, and an open mic session.
The “No Kings” movement, known for its grassroots focus on civic engagement and opposition to political complacency, invites attendees to “feel free to bring chairs and umbrellas” for the outdoor gathering. Organizers also encourage community participation through a food bank collection, offering parking and handicap-accessible facilities on-site.
Participants will have the opportunity to pick up No Kings crowns and hear from local voices advocating for accountability and citizen-led change.

The event, promoted as a peaceful yet spirited show of independence, builds on last year’s National Day of Defiance, which drew strong participation from across the Eastern Shore.

Alternately….there are other perspectives….

They call him ‘King’. He lives in their minds, rent free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Weak mind think alike. It is sad how truly dim these people are.
LOL Handicap Port-a-Potty gets main billing for all the tard-lib boomers that ran away from their dumps in NOVA and NJ.
Best comment this week.
This is a direct result from the 60’s,70’s generation taking LSD, heroin, coke, speed, daily then pro creating .Timathy Leary and the US government promoted it . These older generation politicians are certainly demonstrating that result as well as keeping it alive with what we all are experiencing these last 20 years .
