ONLEY, VA. – In Accomack, the County Sheriff’s Office received reports of bomb threats at Nandua Middle School, Nandua High School and Accawkmacke Elementary School.
A matrixed investigation by Virginia State Police, Accomack the County Sheriff’s Office, Exmore Police Department, Onley Police Department, Onancock Police Department, and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile who has been charged with one count of threat to bomb or burn a building.
Although the one suspect is now in police custody, bomb threats were again made against the Accawmacke Elementary School and Nandua Middle School on yesterday morning. Students were reportedly evacuated and moved to the Nandua High School until they received a bomb threat shortly after as well, forcing all students to evacuate onto the football fields.
The 17-year-old juvenile has been transported to the Norfolk Detention Center in Norfolk, VA and held without bond.
