EXMORE, Va. — The Great Machipongo Clam Shack is inviting locals and visitors to join the celebration of the 21st Anniversary of its iconic “First Wednesday” Open Mic Night on Wednesday, January 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. (Note: The event has been rescheduled due to the restaurant being closed on January 1.)
This milestone promises to be a lively and well-attended evening filled with music, poetry, and laughter. The celebration will include a special video slideshow retrospective, showcasing two decades of memorable performances and audience moments. From seasoned regulars to new faces, the night will honor the vibrant creative community that has made “First Wednesday” a cherished tradition.
To accommodate the anticipated turnout, performers will have the following time slots:
- Musicians: Two songs each.
- Poets and stand-up acts: Five minutes each.
Once all participants have had a chance to perform, the stage will reopen for encores, time permitting.
