South Hampton Roads got the highest snow accumulation in the state with about 4 to 5 inches blanketing some areas overnight Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield.
Totals on the Shore varied, with lower shore totals under 4 inches in most places, with minor drifting.
“The highest amounts were in Southside Hampton Roads,” Zimmerman said of snowfall across the state. “There also were higher amounts in some places in northeast North Carolina, like Elizabeth City.”
