CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Code Official provided an update on the department’s activities over the past week, highlighting developments in inspections, permits, and code enforcement.
During the week, the Code Official conducted 23 inspections and issued 13 permits, reflecting ongoing construction and renovation activities within the town. Additionally, the official processed two rental inspection applications and performed one rental inspection.
In terms of new residential development, the Code Official reviewed plans for several new homes across various communities:
- Heron Pointe: Plans reviewed, additional information requested.
- Bayside Village: Plans reviewed, permit issued.
- Muirfield Village: Plans reviewed, permit issued.
- The Signature: Plans reviewed, permit issuance imminent.
The Code Official also met with the Zoning Administrator to discuss ongoing code enforcement cases. All active cases have seen property owners engage with the town to address compliance issues. The collaborative efforts aim to ensure properties meet the town’s standards.
Moreover, the Code Official and Zoning Administrator conducted an on-site meeting with a property owner to resolve a parking issue. The town officials are working closely with the property owner to find a satisfactory solution.
