CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Code Official conducted a busy week of inspections, permitting, and project reviews as the town continues to see growth and development.
A total of 45 inspections were performed, and six permits were issued, reflecting the steady pace of construction activity in the area. The office also processed four rental inspection applications, though no rental inspections were conducted this week.
The Code Official collaborated with the Zoning Administrator on several ongoing projects and made significant progress on residential developments across town:
- Plans for new homes in Bayside Village, Muirfield Village, and The Colony were reviewed, with permits for these projects expected to be issued soon.
- Additional plans for homes in Bayside Village and The Colony were received and are under review.
The official also followed up on complaints submitted to the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) concerning ongoing developments in Bay Creek. Progress continues on land clearing in Village J, where all burning has been completed and erosion and sediment control measures have been installed.
As Cape Charles experiences sustained growth, the Code Official remains focused on ensuring compliance with town regulations while facilitating the development of new homes and neighborhoods.
