Cape Charles Narrows Down Town Manager Candidates to Final Two.
CAPE CHARLES — The search for Cape Charles’ next Town Manager has entered its final stages. Several months after Town Manager John Hozey announced his plans to retire in May 2025, the Town Council has narrowed the pool of candidates to two finalists.
In preparation for the transition, the Town Council engaged Baker-Tilley as the consultant for the recruitment process. Over the past several months, a thorough review of applicants has been conducted, culminating in the selection of two standout candidates.
This week, the finalists will visit Cape Charles to tour the town, meet with staff, and engage with local citizens. A public reception will be held on Wednesday, January 8, at the Oyster Farm Pearl Event Center, starting at 5:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to interact with the candidates.
The Town Council is scheduled to conduct interviews with the finalists on Thursday afternoon. The Council’s decision will mark a significant milestone in shaping the future leadership of Cape Charles.
