CAPE CHARLES, Va. — In an effort to improve accessibility, the Town of Cape Charles has partnered with Citizens for Central Park to propose the construction of three ADA-compliant parking spaces near the park. The initiative aims to enhance access for individuals with mobility disabilities.
The proposal, which town officials say is a crucial step toward making public spaces more inclusive, is currently under review. If approved, the designated spaces would be strategically located to provide convenient entry points to Central Park, ensuring that all visitors, regardless of mobility challenges, can enjoy its amenities.
Citizens for Central Park, a local advocacy group dedicated to maintaining and improving the park, has been actively involved in the planning process. Representatives from the organization have worked closely with town officials to identify optimal locations for the new spaces and advocate for their implementation.
