CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Planning Commission has rescheduled its regular meeting from April 1 to April 10, 2025, at 6 p.m. due to scheduling conflicts. The meeting will include two public hearings addressing proposed zoning changes.
The first hearing will consider Zoning Text Amendment 2025-01, an application submitted by the Cape Charles Town Council to amend Article III, Section 3-3 (E) of the town’s zoning ordinance. The amendment seeks to remove the three-acre minimum land requirement listed in Table 2 for multi-family project development in the Residential-3 Multi-Family District.
The second hearing will review Zoning Map Amendment 2025-01, an application from Seabreeze Associates, LP, requesting a conditional rezoning with proffers for properties at 201 – 209 Washington Avenue. The proposal seeks to rezone the parcels, identified as Tax Map #83A1-3-B2 and #83A1-3-3, from Residential-1 (R-1) to Residential-3 (R-3) under Cape Charles Zoning Ordinance Sections 2.7.2 and 3.3.
The Planning Commission encourages public participation in the hearings, which will take place at the Cape Charles Civic Center. Residents and stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed amendments before the commission makes its recommendations to the Town Council.
