CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Town Manager Rick Keuroglian said this week he is continuing discussions with attorneys and regional partners on several key issues, including ongoing legal matters surrounding the town’s water system and broader collaboration with other Eastern Shore municipalities.
Keuroglian said he has two meetings scheduled this week. The first is with town attorneys to review legal issues related to water. The second brings together attorneys representing Canonie Atlantic, Virginia American Water (VAW), and the town to explore “a path forward” in ongoing negotiations.
“I am hoping to have more information once some of these issues are resolved,” Keuroglian said.
In addition to water concerns, Keuroglian hosted the most recent Regional Town Managers meeting in Cape Charles. The group includes the managers of Chincoteague and Onancock, and has been meeting for the past five years to share challenges, successes, and strategies for their communities.
The collaboration began when Keuroglian, Matt Spuck of Onancock, and Mike Tolbert of Chincoteague were all new to their roles. Since then, the meetings have become a forum for discussing housing, economic development, tourism, growth management, and preserving community character.
“It is a coveted time and a protected relationship of likeminded professionals who love what they do and love serving their community,” Keuroglian said.
The next Regional Town Managers meeting will be held in Onancock.
