CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department released its weekly activity reports for the first half of September, detailing a wide range of law enforcement calls from routine citizen assists to a DUI arrest.
For the week ending Sept. 5, officers responded to reports including a missing person, shots fired assistance, noise complaints, business and residential alarms, a child not secured in a car seat, and a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Route 13. Police also conducted regular building checks, traffic enforcement, code violation responses, and foot patrols.
The following week, ending Sept. 12, officers handled calls involving large crowds in Bayview, trespassing issues, a domestic incident, a subject found intoxicated, and a DUI arrest. Other calls included welfare checks, lost property, a residential alarm, destruction of property, and a case of wildlife inside a building.
Police also assisted citizens, responded to 911 hang-ups, and coordinated with county and emergency medical services throughout both weeks.
