Officers complete new training programs, maintain active patrol presence throughout town
CAPE CHARLES — The Cape Charles Police Department has released its monthly report for September 2025, highlighting a steady level of community engagement, patrol activity, and law enforcement support across the Eastern Shore.
According to the report, officers responded to a total of 154 calls for service—140 within town limits and 14 outside of town assisting other jurisdictions.
Key Enforcement Statistics
- Felony arrests: 0
- Misdemeanor arrests: 2
- DWI arrests: 2
- Traffic summonses issued: 26
- Golf cart interactions: 9
- Parking tickets issued: 38
- Building checks: 115
The department also provided support to neighboring agencies, assisting the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office 11 times and the Virginia State Police 3 times during the month.
Community & Patrol Activity
Cape Charles officers logged 55 hours of foot patrol and 38 hours patrolling Bay Creek, continuing the department’s emphasis on visibility and community policing.
Training & Professional Development
In September, officers completed several professional development programs, including new radio system training, a gang conference, and BOLA wrap training—a non-lethal restraint technique used in law enforcement.
