CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Town of Cape Charles is seeking civic-minded residents to fill several vacancies on important local boards that help shape the town’s growth, historic character, and environmental stewardship.
Town officials announced that there are currently two open seats on the Building Code Board of Appeals, along with one vacancy each on the Historic District Review Board, the Planning Commission, and the Wetlands & Coastal Dunes Board. These groups play a crucial role in reviewing development proposals, protecting historic assets, guiding land-use planning, and overseeing coastal resources.
Residents interested in serving are encouraged to complete the town’s Application for Boards and Commissions. Applications may be delivered to Town Clerk Libby Hume at 412 Tazewell Avenue, mailed to P.O. Box 191, Cape Charles, VA 23310, or emailed to clerk@capecharles.org.
Once several applications have been received for each board, the Town Council will schedule interviews before making official appointments.
