CAPE CHARLES, Va. — After weeks of preparation and a temporary closure, the Cape Charles Town Hall has officially reopened in its new interim location at Trinity United Methodist Church. The move became effective October 28, marking a significant transition as the town continues work on long-term facilities planning.
Town offices are now operating at 412 Tazewell Avenue, utilizing office space within the church complex. Visitors can access the main entrance directly from Tazewell Avenue by following the sidewalk beside the church’s Fellowship Hall. This entrance leads to the Finance and Human Resources departments, which are now fully staffed and open for regular business.
Residents seeking services from Planning & Zoning or the Building Department may find it more convenient to use the contractors’ entrance off Plum Street, where those departments—and additional administrative offices—are located. Clear signage has been posted at all entrances to help guide the public to the correct areas.
In addition to the physical relocation, the Town has also updated its official mailing address to:
P.O. Box 191, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
Town officials say the temporary move will allow municipal operations to continue smoothly while plans for future improvements progress. Residents are encouraged to call ahead or check the Town’s website for department-specific hours and updates.
