NASSAWADOX, Va. — The long-running “First Wednesday” open mic night at the Shack will mark a milestone, celebrating 22 years of showcasing local talent and building community on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
The anniversary event will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, with organizers inviting musicians, poets and stand-up comedians to take the stage for an evening of live performances. Sign-up begins at 5:30 p.m., and participants of all experience levels are welcome.
In keeping with the community spirit that has defined the event for more than two decades, attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support Eastern Shore residents in need.
Organizers say the open mic has thrived over the years thanks to its supportive audience and welcoming atmosphere, making it a staple for performers and listeners alike. Food and beverages will be available throughout the evening.
The Shack is located at 6468 Charles M. Lankford Jr. Memorial Highway in Nassawadox. For more information, call 757-442-3800 or visit www.greatclams.com.
