CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles will welcome the fall season Saturday, Oct. 10, with a daylong Fall Festival featuring a Shriners parade, local vendors, children’s activities, live entertainment and several events highlighting the town’s maritime character.
The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the Shriners Parade, followed by activities throughout the downtown area. The festival is scheduled to take place along Mason Avenue, Strawberry Street and at Strawberry Plaza.
Crafters will be set up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Stingrays activities are scheduled from noon to 2 p.m.
Family activities include face painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a balloon artist from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and pumpkin painting from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
One of the more unusual events on the schedule is a White Boot Auction, with auctions planned for noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Musician Chase Davidson is scheduled to perform from 2 to 4 p.m.
The festival will also feature a Merchant Scarecrow Contest, a Railyard-Harbor IDEAS exhibit and food trucks, along with additional activities throughout the day.
The event provides residents and visitors an opportunity to spend a fall Saturday downtown while supporting local businesses, artisans and community organizations.
