CAPE CHARLES, Va. — St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will hold its fifth annual Oktoberfest Sunday, Oct. 11, offering an afternoon of German food, music and family activities in Cape Charles.
The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. and is billed as a family-friendly celebration.
Oktoberfest activities will include music, German cuisine, craft beer, a silent auction, raffles, a bake sale, children’s games and other activities.
An entrance ticket includes a meal and one beverage ticket. Additional beverage tickets will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the event will support social ministries on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, including Lighthouse Ministries, Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Migrant Ministries and Northampton Social Ministry, according to the event announcement.
The annual Oktoberfest has become an early fall community event for the church, combining traditional German-inspired festivities with fundraising for organizations serving Eastern Shore residents.
