HOUSE BILL NO. 1877 which is a Bill to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 3.2-6539.1, relating to tethering of dogs for local ordinances, falls before the Committee on Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources. The Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 3.2-6539.1 as follows:
§ 3.2-6539.1. Ordinances regulating tethering of dogs.
The governing body of any locality may adopt ordinances limiting the amount of time during which a dog, notwithstanding its enjoyment of adequate space, may be tethered.
