GOSSIP: During Cape Charles Town Council Comments at the January 19th Regular Meeting, Councilwoman Dora Sullivan stated that while observing a routine traffic stop in town, she was taken by the professional and courteous demeanor of the CCPD. She went on to say that it was a breath of fresh air, that after 20 years of living here, she could finally feel good about the police. While it is true that Chief Pruitt has done a fine job with the CCPD, with former Police Chief, now Councilman Sambo Brown sitting just across from her, Sullivan’s comments came across as a somewhat harsh reprisal of Brown’s tenure. Observers wondered whether this ‘shot across the bow’ and was an indication of internal strife within the Cape Charles Power Bubble (CCPB).
