  1. Worth noting: NOAA has a tidal gauge at Sewell’s Point with data from 1928. Sea level rise from then through 2016, within my lifetime, is 18 inches. Earth has a finite amount of water. Where is it coming from? Glaciers visibly are retreating worldwide. The Greenland and Antarctic ice caps show increasing losses. Here in Cape Charles, at this rate, by 2050, for example, Strawberry Street could be the beach, as shown on NOAA website maps. Globally, as a start, we need immediate consensus on eliminating burning of coal. Locally, we need planning for orderly retreats from threatened areas.

  2. Occohanock Creek has risen over tmore marsh, since 1985. I know, because I live on the creek containing marsh area.

    1. As sea level continues to rise, what will be the fate of all those CAFOs a-building when the inevitable, another series of tropical storms, happens? I suppose Accomack County Supervisors are working on a plan.
