MACHIPONGO, Va.— The Barrier Islands Center will celebrate Italian-American culinary tradition with its Feast of the Seven Fishes Cooking Class on Saturday, December 14, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Open to participants aged 16 and older, the event costs $80 per person and promises a festive and flavorful experience.
Instructors Matt and Eden Ertle will guide attendees through the preparation of a multi-course seafood meal, drawing inspiration from the Feast of the Seven Fishes, a Christmas Eve tradition that highlights the rich bounty of Atlantic and Chesapeake Bay waters. Participants will learn recipes and techniques, perfect for recreating the celebration at home, or simply enjoy the demonstration and tastings.
The class will be held at the Barrier Islands Center, located at 7295 Young Street in Machipongo, Virginia. Registration and payment are required in advance, with a no-refund policy effective after December 6.
