Bay Creek Welcomes New General Manager

February 20, 2022 by Wayne Creed 1 Comment

Bay Creek recently welcomed Robert Ewing as general manager. Ewing will oversee golf, club and fitness center operations, food and beverage, agronomy, and sales and marketing for the club.

Robert Ewing

Ewing has more than 31 years of golf and hospitality industry experience having most recently served as general manager of Heritage Shores Club in Bridgeville, Delaware. His experience in both golf and food & beverage operations make him a well-rounded general manger focused on outstanding member and guest service and programs. A dynamic leader, Ewing has led operations at properties throughout the U.S., including clubs in Florida, Arizona, California, New Jersey and Michigan.

“Bob is one of the most experienced general managers in the industry and we are thrilled he’s joining our team,” said Bobby Masters, Executive Vice President Lifestyle Communities at Preserve Communities. “Through Bob’s leadership, our goal is to take the member and guest experience at Bay Creek to the next level.”

Ewing grew up in the Mid-Atlantic States, attending high school in Philadelphia, Penn., before graduating from Temple University. He is currently a Class-A member of the PGA of America, and holds affiliations with the National Golf Course Owners Association, National Golf Foundation, United States Golf Association and the United States Tennis Association.

Located along the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Bay Creek features 27-holes of golf, including an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature course, and a 9-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Both courses are private, but the community retains a resort component, renting homes and allowing guests pay to play. Golfweek recognizes the Palmer and Nicklaus Courses among the state’s top golf courses in its 2021 ranking of “Top Courses You Can Play” in Virginia.

In addition to 27-holes of award-winning golf, Bay Creek also includes a 10,000 sq. ft. Life Center. From expert fitness instruction, two pools (one for laps and one for kids), and state-of-the-art exercise equipment, to nutrition assessments and professionally designed environs that both calm and energize, the Life Center is the hub of fitness and wellness for the Bay Creek community. Bay Creek’s spectacular 350-acre Nature Preserve is a haven for hiking, walking, canoeing, kayaking, and learning about nature.  In the clubhouse, tucked beside the Bay Creek Golf Shop and overlooking the club’s golf practice facility, the Coach House Tavern is Bay Creek’s restaurant and tavern with an Eastern Shore-inspired menu that celebrates the flavors of the region.
