Come join us for a guided walk of Savage Neck Natural Area Preserve with Coastal Region Steward Shannon Alexander. We will explore this diverse Natural Area Preserve, discuss its importance for conservation of the Northeastern Beach Tiger Beetle, and see this high-quality habitat up close. We will also be looking for any other wildlife we can find including breeding birds that call this patch of woods along the Chesapeake Bay their home. The mixed pine hardwood forests host a variety of warblers, vireos, and flycatchers, while the Preserve itself is within a migratory hotspot.

VDCR staff will be on site to guide participants to park just inside the gate of the Preserve.
