The Virginia Department of Health has issued an advisory regarding slightly elevated levels of bacteria detected at the Cape Charles public beach. This water will be tested again today with new results available tomorrow. In the meantime, the beach remains open, however bathers with compromised immune conditions or open sores should enter the water at their own risk.
Personally I think Cape Charles Beach should be shut down altogether. It’s nasty af there. There’s still runoff from the old $#!+ pipes. It’s horrible they allow anyone to swim in these waters. Also the pier is unstable and never fixed properly. It should be demolished. I think I’ll be making a few calls.
