CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Beach will be temporarily closed to the public next week as town officials conduct maintenance work in preparation for the upcoming season.
The closure will begin Monday, March 24, and is expected to last through Friday, March 28. However, town officials cautioned that work could extend through the weekend depending on weather conditions.
The project will involve heavy machinery and maintenance operations, prompting officials to restrict public access to ensure the safety of residents, children, and pets.
“We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in observing the posted signs and staying off the beach during this time,” the town said in a statement. “This work is essential to improving one of the town’s best assets.”
The maintenance project comes ahead of the busy tourist season, when Cape Charles Beach attracts visitors and residents alike.
Residents are encouraged to monitor town announcements for any updates on the project’s completion timeline.
