CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Town of Cape Charles is saying goodbye to Joe Gittinger, who has served in the Public Works Department since 2021. Gittinger, a Maintenance Specialist known for his dedication and reliability, has officially resigned from his position.
Town officials expressed their appreciation for Gittinger’s service, especially his willingness to stay on through the busy July 4th holiday week. “Joe will be missed, but we know he has a bright future ahead,” Public Works Manager Ralph Bowen said in a statement.
Stepping into the role later this month will be Maleek Williams, one of the Town’s hardworking and dependable seasonal employees. Williams has earned a strong reputation within the department and is being promoted to a full-time position.
The transition reflects the Town’s commitment to recognizing and advancing talent from within its ranks.
If you knew Joe you’d know just how special it is.
