CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles town officials have provided an update on several key capital projects underway, from the planning of a new municipal building and visitors center to the boardwalk replacement project and waste management bidding.
The Capital Projects team has been coordinating closely with architectural firm HBA to finalize the schedule and structure for a proposed contract amendment. This amendment will include updated plans, specifications, and bidding documents for the anticipated municipal building and visitors center, a project aimed at enhancing town facilities for residents and visitors alike.
In another ongoing project, town officials offered guidance to Cape Charles Marine Services on billing procedures for the boardwalk replacement project. They also provided direction on additional work requirements as the contract approaches its expiration, ensuring transparency and alignment with project expectations.

To facilitate the bidding process for the town’s solid waste collection and disposal service, officials clarified details in the Invitation for Bids, addressing questions to assist potential contractors in accurately responding to the town’s needs.
Lastly, the town continued its work with the redeveloper of the library building, collaborating on the preparation of condominium documents for the building’s ongoing development. This project is part of Cape Charles’ broader strategy to revitalize and repurpose key structures within the community.
