CAPE CHARLES, VA – August 15, 2024 – Cape Charles property owners are invited to join an important discussion at the upcoming Cape Charles Historic District Civic League meeting on August 19, 2024. Concerned residents highlight the challenges property owners face, including inconsistencies, frustration, and excessive paperwork when navigating the town’s permitting processes for property updates and maintenance.
The Civic League meeting will be held at the Cape Charles Civic Center on Tazewell Avenue. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom link will be provided on the Cape Charles Historic District Civic League’s Facebook page shortly before the meeting.
“This is not about short-term rental issues,” Claudette Lajoie noted in an email message. “We want to focus on finding streamlined and effective solutions to help property owners maintain the quality of their properties without being burdened by the town’s permitting and approval processes.”
Lajoie encourages all property owners and interested parties to participate in the discussion. She is also available to answer any questions at (757) 408-0023.
The meeting will include this topic as item #4 on the agenda. The community’s input will be vital in addressing the challenges and finding practical solutions for both commercial and residential property owners.
