Classical Conversations of the Eastern Shore is wrapping up the school year with some incredible academic progress and celebration! The Foundations and Essentials program ended the year with a STEM egg drop from a bucket truck (thanks to A and N Electric).
The kids created their own egg contraptions which were dropped to see which eggs didn’t break. The kids celebrated their last day with a field day of activities, snacks, and a “store” where they were able to spend their hard earned tickets given for participation in assignments.
Throughout the year the Foundation kids learned a 168 fact history timeline, studied great artists and composers, memorized science, Latin, math, and history facts, and gave 24 presentations to their peers. The Essentials students studied English Grammar, wrote 20+ essays and gave as many presentations about their papers.
The Challenge A students (7th-8th grade) only have a few weeks left to finish their school year. They have completed the science fair, faithfully studied Latin, written 10 persuasive essays based on Newbury literature, studied logic by learning common fallacies, completed a dissection of a chicken plus learned to draw body systems from memory, and learned to draw the world from memory.
Classical Conversations are now accepting applications for the fall. Wendy Eder will continue directing the Foundations and Essentials levels (elementary), Cindy Maynard will direct the Challenge A kids (7th grade) and Jordan Dail will direct the Challenge B kids (8th-9th grade).
