CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Memorial Library is inviting residents of all ages to come out and celebrate the everyday heroes who keep the community running smoothly. The event, titled “Let’s Celebrate Our Community Helpers,” will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the lot across from the library.
Organizers say the goal is to give residents an opportunity to meet, greet, and learn from the people who serve Cape Charles every day. Representatives from a variety of essential services and organizations are expected to attend, including the Cape Charles Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard, Cape Charles Volunteer Fire Company, and Town of Cape Charles Public Works.
Other participating groups include WHRO Public Media, the United States Postal Service, Virginia American Water, Accomack-Northampton Electric Cooperative (ANEC), and the Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation District.

The event is free and open to the public. Children will have the opportunity to explore a school bus, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the professionals who play vital roles in the town’s infrastructure and well-being.
Photos and videos may be taken during the event by Cape Charles Memorial Library staff and shared on the library’s website or social media. Anyone who does not wish to be photographed is asked to notify library staff upon arrival.
