CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Planning and Zoning Department has announced several key updates, including upcoming meetings and project reviews, according to the Planning and Zoning Administrator.
Historic District Review Board
The Historic District Review Board will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. to review Certificate of Appropriateness applications for several properties within the Historic District:
- 526 Tazewell Avenue: The homeowner seeks approval to remove the wood fascia and trim from the bay window and replace it with AZEK, a durable composite material, on their two-story single-family dwelling.
- 128 Peach Street: A request has been submitted to replace the front porch’s wood balustrades with new composite balustrades on a two-story single-family home.
- Randolph Avenue (Tax Map #83A3-1-584): An application has been submitted to construct a new 1,131-square-foot, two-story single-family dwelling on the vacant lot.
- Monroe Avenue (Tax Map #83A3-1-418): Plans for a new 1,218-square-foot, two-story single-family dwelling are also under review.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission has a packed agenda for the coming months, including:
- Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.: The Commission will continue its review of zoning ordinance amendments, focusing on the new model ordinance for the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.
