CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department has released its law enforcement activity report for August, showing a total of 118 calls for service within the town and 5 additional calls for assistance outside of town limits.
Police made two felony arrests and one misdemeanor arrest during the month, including charges for DUI, grand larceny, and breaking and entering at night. Officers issued 18 traffic summonses and responded to 11 incidents involving golf carts, a common mode of transportation in the area. Parking violations were also a significant issue, with 54 tickets issued.
The department conducted 60 building checks and logged 41 hours of foot patrol, along with 24 hours of patrol in the Bay Creek development. Officers also assisted the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office on three occasions and the Virginia State Police twice.
