Cape Charles Public Works Prepares Town for July 4th Celebration
CAPE CHARLES, Va. — As the town of Cape Charles prepares for its much-anticipated July 4th celebration, the Public Works Department has been diligently working to ensure the town is ready for the influx of visitors and festivities. With just two weeks remaining, Public Works Manager [Name] reports a busy but productive week for the team.
Key preparations and maintenance tasks completed this week include:
- Signage and Repairs: The team reinstalled the Fig and Jefferson sign, made repairs at the beach bathhouse, and put up new service signs at the restrooms, which have already seen patron participation.
- Water Barricades and Lids: Additional water barricades were received for town events, and Davis delivered replacement lids.
- Fountain and Light Poles: The team serviced and monitored the town fountain, and all park light poles had their bases repainted.

- Grass Cutting: The team mowed the Peach Street median, the playground at the park, East Monroe Avenue, and the public works storage yard.
Despite the hot weather and the urgency of the approaching holiday, the Public Works team remains dedicated to ensuring Cape Charles is in top shape for its largest annual event. Residents and visitors can look forward to a well-maintained and welcoming environment as they celebrate the Fourth of July.
