Town Council voted on Thursday to adopt a resolution authorizing the town manager to submit a request to VDOT for the installation of marked crosswalks. The request revolves around the need to aid pedestrians and those with disabilities crossing the intersections of Fig Street and Randolph Avenue, as well as Fig Street (extended) and Mason Avenue. The crosswalks would make it safer to cross over to Rayfield’s Pharmacy.
The resolution only authorizes the town to submit the request to VDOT.
What is happening with 649 Fig St
Crosswalks…???? It’s the beginning of the end.
A ‘crosswalk’ ??? GTFOH!!!
First comes the crosswalk. Next comes a traffic signal. Finally, a paid police-person to hide at the signalized intersection to catch the folks who run the red lights. And the revenue generated pays for more crosswalks, traffic signals and more paid “law-enforcers.” Ad infinitum.
Damn communists!!!
Really?
Reluctantly I will give you a maybe on the one at Fig and Mason, but Fig and Randolph, be serious! last time I saw a pedestrian crossing there was when Santa came to town.
A crosswalk across Mason who is coming or going to the rail yard
Fig st many for the drug store access
I saw a pedestrian there a while back. The picture shows it’s screwed up. I’ve walked several times to and from the repair shop, usually in inclement weather when you wouldn’t want to wait, and this indicates you just step out and make them slam brakes. The arrows are screens on submarines.
Kudos to Dianne Davis.
