CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Treasurer’s Office recently took significant steps to ensure rental property owners within the town are meeting compliance requirements. Finance Clerk Ryan Silvey collaborated with the Planning and Zoning Department to identify noncompliant rental property owners, bringing them into alignment with business license and rental inspection mandates.
In a related effort, the finance department successfully submitted the final claims and contract amendments for the town’s DCJS law enforcement ARPA grant, marking a critical step in securing funding for local law enforcement initiatives.
The department continued its regular duties, providing a range of services, including customer service, notary services, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, tax account maintenance, title search requests, collections, utility billing, and public works service and support ticket processing.
