BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The captain of the Ever Forward – the ship that was grounded in the Chesapeake Bay last year – has given up his pilotage license in Maryland and has agreed to never seek one again, according to a consent decree.
The cargo ship was traveling from Baltimore to Norfolk, Virginia, on March 13, when it ran aground just north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The ship, piloted by Captain Steven Germac, became stuck outside the shipping channel and did not block marine navigation.
