CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Code Official provided a detailed report this week, highlighting a busy period of inspections, permits, and ongoing development reviews throughout the town.
During this period, the Code Official performed 32 inspections and issued 21 permits, reflecting the town’s ongoing growth and construction activity. Additionally, two rental inspection applications were processed, and one rental inspection was conducted to ensure compliance with local regulations.
The Code Official met with the Zoning Administrator to discuss various ongoing projects, including the enforcement of demolition by neglect cases. These cases remain a key focus as the town works to preserve its historic and structural integrity.
In development news, the Code Official completed the review of all documents for the new subdivision, Village J. A Land Disturbance permit has been issued, and construction is expected to begin soon, marking a significant step forward for the project.
Plans for new homes continue to come in, with reviews completed or underway for several properties. A permit for a new home in Plantation Pointe is set to be issued soon, while plans for a new home in Heron Pointe are under review, with additional information requested. Plans for two new homes in Bayside Village, another in The Colony, and a second in Plantation Pointe have been received and will be reviewed in the coming days.
The Code Official also met with the Virginia American Water Supervisor to address water and sewer issues, ensuring that infrastructure needs are aligned with the town’s growth.
