CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department responded to a variety of calls for service last week, according to a report presented by the town’s police chief.
Officers conducted routine building checks, issued traffic summonses, enforced code violations, and carried out regular foot patrols throughout the town. Ten golf cart-related interactions were also noted.
Among the more serious incidents, police responded to a fight in progress, a report of an unconscious and unresponsive person, and a call from an individual in the woods calling for help. Officers also assisted emergency medical services, the fire department, and handled multiple incidents involving individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Calls for service included a hit-and-run, a stolen trailer, and a report of shots fired in nearby Cheriton. Police also investigated a road rage incident and an unsecured door on Mason Avenue, along with multiple citizen complaints involving businesses in the same area.
Other notable incidents involved a drone complaint, a boat parked on a public street, loud children on the beach, and residential alarm activations.
Personally, I believe CCPD are making up half the calls, if not more, for publicity and attention. Just to make themselves look good.
